Which is more popular, the hosted or intranet (installed) edition of CourseForce?
The majority of our customers opt for the hosted (cloud) edition of CourseForce because the risk is so low and the cost savings so high (see “Peace of Mind”) . Should you move to another system, your data will be returned to you in a format ready for uploading.
How much server capacity do I need for CourseForce?
In most cases, none. The majority of our customers opt for our hosted – “cloud” – solution in which we store your data on our servers (see “Peace of Mind”). The cost savings for you are significant: no up-front software costs, no hardware costs, no annual licensing fees, no IT staff to hire and train, no server capacity to estimate (see our Benefits page). For one monthly payment (ongoing for as long as we host your data), we handle all upgrades, all licensing requirements, and all issues related to scalability. We grow – or contract -- with you.
An intranet edition of CourseForce is available. Annual licensing fees apply.
What if I need to change something structural in CourseForce?
We urge you to use CourseForce “as is” for the first few months before requesting customizations. Otherwise, you risk customizing CourseForce to look like the system that no longer serves your needs. However, virtually every aspect of the program is customizable, and we would be happy to quote on any change(s) you require.
Can I use CourseForce with Safari, Firefox, or other browsers besides Explorer?
CourseForce has been optimized to use Microsoft’s Internet Explorer (IE) browser. This is free downloadable software available at the Microsoft web site.
Can I store my training documents in CourseForce?
Document storage options are currently in development.
Can I integrate CourseForce with our payroll system?
In most cases, yes. CourseForce can be customized to pick up changes in employee data such as employee hires, departures, identification numbers, etc..
What if I am managing multiple companies instead of multiple divisions or plants?
Please ask us about our “Enterprise” edition of CourseForce.
Can I run exams and collect employee grades on CourseForce?
Yes. Please see our Benefits page. CourseForce can accommodate an unlimited number of multiple-choice questions, collecting grades in whatever format you would like to see them: per cent, pass/fail, acceptable / unacceptable level of understanding, etc.. In order for CourseForce to capture grades automatically, employees must complete their exams on the CourseForce program. To do this, the additional purchase of the Employee Portal is required. Alternatively, you can enter the grades manually.
Can I use CourseForce to manage my training budget?
Yes. CourseForce allows you to track all trainer, location, and employee expenses, including transportation, hotel, meals, and more.
Does CourseForce allow my employees to “test out” of certain required courses?
Yes. Any course for any employee can be designated as “Not Required” or “Not Applicable.”
Can reports be exported to Excel?
Yes.
Can supervisors manage their own employees’ training?
Yes. Our Team Leader portal allows supervisors to adjust scheduled date(s) of training for their own employees to ensure daily operations are not jeopardized by absenteeism. The Team Leader portal also gives supervisors access to selected reports for their employees.
Even with the Team Leader portal, however, all authority for curriculum development, course assignment, scheduling, and budget management resides with the training Administrator and his / her selected additional users.
